Thinking out loud is the most effective usability testing tool

Prompt the test subject to keep talking and give a raw monologue of their thoughts. Take notes and let the user do the talking. This will reveal common misconceptions generated by your design. If your users keep misjudging one of your design elements, change it.

Boycotting Flash

My Macbook Air is humming along nicely; it didn’t come with Adobe Flash installed, and I have still yet to download the plugin. Yet, I’m able to view all the websites I regularly use and view YouTube videos. HTML5 in lieu of Flash speeds your web from trot to dash.
