This giant walking stick insect was spotting near Cossatot River State Park on a camping trip in May 2012.
Walking stick bugs or phantom bugs are in the insect order Phasmatodea, which is derived from Greek, meaning apparition, phantom, or ghost. These natural ninjas not only camouflage themselves with their bark or tree-like exoskeleton, but they also sway between steps to imitate a branch or twig moving in the wind.
This video was filmed in 1080p using the GoPro head-mounted camera in Arkansas at Cossatot River State Park. This is the first release in a mini-series of videos I recorded on a camping trip in May 2012.
